Dongguk Jido
In 1811, Gyu-Nam produced a 9-panel map of Joseon and eight provinces depicting the entire country. Looking at the geographical names reflected in the map, it is thought that it was produced based on the revised map of Jeong Hang-ryeong, the son of Jeong Sang-gi, as it contains place names from the late 18th century. The background color of the circle with the names of the counties of the eight provinces reflects the principles of the Five Elements: Gyeonggi-Chungcheong-do is yellow, Jeolla-do is red, Gyeongsang-do is pale pink, Gangwon-do is blue, Pyongan-do is white, and Hamgyeongbuk-do is gray-black. It is a very excellent map with precise contours and beautifully harmonized subdued colors. It was drawn 50 years before Kim Jeong-ho's Daedongyeojido.
